Donald Edward Clawson, passed away at St. Ann's Hospital on February 1, 2026. Don graduated from Westerville South High School, formerly Westerville High School in 1963. Don worked as a custodian and Head Custodian at Westerville City Schools for 30 years. After retirement from the Schools, he worked at the Church of Messiah part time. He was a long time member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and an Elder.
Don and his wife Louanne loved to go camping. Two trips to Brown County State Park in Indiana. They went camping with Louanne's sister and her husband and made sure their trailers were next to each other all the time. Vacations were spent together at Myrtle Beach, a couple of different cabins in Hocking Hills. They also traveled to Venus, Florida and Put-In-Bay a few times. Don and Louanne loved to go fishing over at Hoover Reservoir every chance they had. They always had a fun time. Don was an avid Ohio State Football Fan.
Don was a veteran in the Army and served from June 1967 to July 1971 and was stationed over in Germany.
Don is survived by his loving wife Louanne, three sons Charles (Dawn) Clawson, Robert (Cynthia) Caldwell, Jonathan Caldwell, sister Barbara (Don) McCoy, sister Charlene (Jerry) Sourvanos, sister-in-law Sue Clawson, brother-in-law William Morris. Survived also by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, our furry dog Prancer along with numerous nephews, nieces and many cousins.
Preceded in death by daughter, Valerie Smith (Clawson), brother Robert Clawson, father Charles Clawson, mother Erma Clawson, sister Deborah Teasley (Clawson) sister-in-law Suzanne Morris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Overbrook Presbyterian Church or the Cancer Society.
