Jose Mauro Amador Alvarez

Jose Mauro Amador Alvarez, lovingly known as "Junior," was born on November 21, 1969, in Riverside, California, and passed away on January 28, 2026, in Fresno, California, at the age of 56. He made his home in Clovis, California.

Jose pursued his undergraduate studies at UCLA and completed graduate studies at The Ohio State University before returning to California to complete his medical residency and serve others through the practice of medicine. He was known for his quick smile, easy humor, and generous spirit. A devoted college football fan (Go Bruins!), he found joy in the outdoors and cherished spending as much time in nature as possible. He was also a loyal patron of taco trucks and a true enthusiast of Thai food.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather. Jose is survived by his three sons, his father, two stepmothers, three sisters, and two brothers, along with a niece and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss him, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends from his college years who will remember him fondly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the UCLA Foundation or the California State Parks Foundation.
