Arnold "Ozzie" B. Mathison, age 89, of Hendricks, MN, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks, MN. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church in Hendricks, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hendricks City Cemetery, Hendricks.
Arnold B. Mathison was born May 20, 1936 in Hendricks, Minnesota to Adolph and Bernice (Johnson) Mathison. He was raised in Hendricks where he attended and graduated from Hendricks High School in 1955. In 1959, enlisted in the United States Army where he served until 1963.
He was united in marriage to Janice Schuette July 16, 1965 in Hendricks, MN. The couple lived in Hendricks where they worked and raised their family. Ozzie worked for Olin Corp driving truck for many years. Following his retirement, he worked at the Hendricks Nursing Home in the housekeeping department. Ozzie entered the Hendricks Nursing Home on November 28, 2025 and passed away there on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the age of 89.
Ozzie enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins games and playing pinocle.
He is survived by his wife Janice Mathison, Hendricks, MN; four children: Sheila Mathison, Sioux Falls, SD, Sherri Hartman (John) Brookings, SD, Judy Rybinski, Hendricks, MN and Amy (Charlie) Anderson, Porter, MN; grandchildren: Tyler, Alyssa (Tanner), Megan, Ryan, Zachary (Krystyna), and Tina; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Maysyn, Serenity, Ariyel, Blayze and Cecelia; and one brother, Jerry Mathison.
Ozzie was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Bernice Mathison; mother and father-in-law: Paul and Annie Schuette; sisters-in-law: Janice K, Mathison, Karen Schuette and Evenell Schuette; and brothers-in-law: James Schuette and Marlin Schuette.
