Arnold J. "Cowboy" Stout, 85, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 22, 2021. Cowboy was born June 26, 1936 in Athens, MI to James and Dorothy (Metzger) Stout. He was a Salvation Army Bell ringer for many years and was a member of CentraCare and the Eagles. Cowboy loved farming and working in his flower garden. He also enjoyed long drives through the country, animals and doing anything he could to aggravate his kids. He was able to kept his sense of humor until the very end. Cowboy is survived by a sister, Joyce Stout-Owens; a son, Dwayne Stout; three daughters, Sherilyn (Randy) Britt, Rosann Stout and Autumn Stout-Fletcher; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Cowboy was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a son; two granddaughters; two nephews; one great-grandson and his wife, Patricia. Funeral Services to celebrate Cowboy's life will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Interment will follow at Ceresco Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.

I never met Arnold (Cowboy) personally,however we became good friends about 2 years ago. We had many conversations and Bible studies each week. He will truly be missed. My sincere condolences to the Stout family.
