Pelon was born in Fort Stockton on March 8, 1945, to Arnulfo ("Cono") and Luisa Bueno. He worked in many trades throughout his life-from Ramada Inn chef, to Safeway manager, to Mobil/Duke Energy gas plant operator. He cherished the time he spent working side by side with his father. A gifted storyteller and musician, he found his greatest joy playing guitar and singing with his grandchildren.
In his final years, Pelon found great fulfillment in creating handcrafted crosses and scripture plaques. Through this work, he was motivated to bring Christ and the Word of God into the homes and hearts of others-sharing his faith with love and purpose.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Alejandro, Maria, Mercedes, and Yolanda; and by his first wife, Ernestina, and second wife, Manda.
He is survived by his children: Alma (Tony), Juanita (Dianna), Robert (Patty), and Delma (Felix); his step-children, Lesa and Billie; his eight grandchildren Victoria, Nikki, Patrick, Joshua, Nicholas, Richard, Jessica, and Jennifer; three great-grandsons; and his siblings Irene, Joe, and Danny.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Father Francis Njoku for his unwavering spiritual support and guidance. They would also like to thank Krysha, the Interim Hospice nurse, for helping them navigate his final days at home.
