Obituary published on Legacy.com by Compassionate Cremation Services of New Hampshire on Mar. 10, 2026.
Arthur D. Allison, 91, a lifelong resident of Antrim, NH, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, March 7, 2026. He was born on May 10, 1934, in Henniker, NH to parents Hedley and Evelyn (Austin) Allison.

Art served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 – 1956. He then went on to serve with the United States Air Force from 1956 – 1960. He was very proud of his service and his country and was a member and past commander of the Legion Post 50 in Antrim, NH for over 50 years. He was also a charter member and past commander of the Granite State Marine Corps League 542 based out of Manchester, NH.

Art was also a member and past master of Harmony Lodge 38 and Eastern Star 14, both in Hillsborough, NH, for over 50 years. He worked as a print shop foreman at the Monadnock Ledger Transcript for many years. Friday and Saturday nights, he worked as a bartender at the Hillsborough, NH legion hall for 28 years (And no, he wasn't a black belt). Later in life, Art and his wife Ann enjoyed spending the winters in Santa Clarita, CA, with their son and his family. Whether here in NH or out in CA, Art enjoyed taking long walks and would take pictures of interesting plants or flowers he saw. He loved the heat and one of his favorite things to do was to sit in the hot sun.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Ann (Crowder) Allison of Antrim, NH who he met while serving in England; his son Dean Allison and his wife Carla of Santa Clarita, CA; his daughters Yvonne Gould and her husband Dwight of Hillsborough, NH, Yvette Brinkley of Antrim, NH; his grandchildren Justin Marin and his wife Arisa, Nathan Marin and his wife Cie, Sarah de Orlando and her husband Andrés, Cameron Marin, Rebekah Marin and her partner Benjamin Congdon, Christopher Brinkley, Colin Brinkley and his partner Michaela Griffin, Matthew Allison, and Andrew Allison; his great grandchildren Annabelle, Giovanna, Julian, Barrett, Zain, and Ziyah; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brothers Theodore Allison, Francis Allison, Robert Allison and his sister Leonna Bohannon.

Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend funeral service at the Antrim Baptist Church, 85 Main St Antrim, NH, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2:30PM, light refreshments to follow. A burial will held over the summer at the NH Veterans Cemetery.
