Ruth Allison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyd Funeral Home - Ashland City on Mar. 12, 2026.
Ruth Catherine Allison, age 88, of the Chapmansboro community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Centennial Hospital with her daughter, Connie Roberts, by her side as she went to be with the Lord. Ruth was born in Nashville, Tennessee and spent her life devoted to her family, friends, and faith.

Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her husband; Houston Allison, her parents; Henry Martin True and Katie Anna Hutchinson True, her brothers; David True, Burton True, and Hoover True, and her sisters; Susie True, Betty True, and Helen Stevens.

She is survived by her daughters; Pam Allison, Connie Roberts (Jerry Drake), and Tammy Boyte, her grandchildren; Kathy Whittenburg, Kristen Margenson, Faith Boyte, and Trey Boyte, great-grandchildren; Michael Margenson, and Daniel Margenson, and her beloved family pets; Maggie, Maverick, and Roxy.

Serving as Active Pallbearers; Trey Boyte, Jerry Drake, Troy Hogan, Marty Hogan, Michael Margenson, and Daniel Margenson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers; Richard True, Marty Leisner, and Aaron Florez.

Ruth worked throughout her adult years at State Industries (A.O. Smith), where she eventually retired. She was known for her warm and welcoming spirit and truly never met a stranger. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

She faithfully attended Gateway Assembly Church in Ashland City with her husband, Houston, until his passing in 2016. Ruth was an excellent cook and found great joy in preparing meals for family and friends. Some of her happiest moments were spent in the kitchen sharing food and fellowship with the people she loved.

Ruth adored her grandchildren and was a constant presence in their lives, often serving as a second mother to them while they were growing up. She also shared a special bond with her granddog, Maggie, whom she lovingly helped care for after Houston's passing.

She enjoyed watching her flower beds bloom and took simple pleasure in watching the red birds visit the feeders outside her window. These quiet moments brought her great peace.

Ruth will be remembered for her kindness, her generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation with the family will be from 3-7 PM, Friday, March 13, 2026, and from 10 AM - 12 Noon Saturday, March 14, 2026, with Funeral Service immediately following at 12 Noon, at Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth Street, Ashland City, TN 37015, with Pastor Chris Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 2930 Hwy. 41A S., Clarksville, TN 37043
