Arthur G. Anderson

Townsend - Arthur G. Anderson, 90, passed away peacefully on February 23, in Saint Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH.

Arthur was born in Chelmsford, MA on October 29, 1935 a son of the late William and Phyllis (Kinney) Anderson. He proudly served his country in the US Naval Reserves for several years until his honorable discharge. Arthur began his Firefighting career for the Town of Chelmsford in 1958, retiring in 1992.

In his spare time, Arthur enjoyed going fishing and tending to his meticulous vegetable gardens. Along with his wife Mary, he enjoyed many years of bowling in a league with their friends. Above all else, Arthur was a family man; he treasured nothing more than spending time with his loved ones. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed.

Arthur is survived by his children, Lee Anderson and wife Mary of Townsend, Arthur Anderson and wife Karen of Pepperell, Christine Randall of Townsend, Tracey Anderson of Haverhill, and Kathy Anderson of Maine; grandchildren, Tabitha Randall and fiancé Noelle Miller, Samantha Randall and Ace Curtis; a brother Donald Anderson of Brookfield; his close childhood friend Gloria McKinnon of New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Richardson) Anderson in 1999; son in law Jimmy Randall in 2016; daughter in law Lisa Jackson in 2024, as well as his siblings, William Anderson, Phyllis Jones, Marilyn Mills, and John Anderson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street Townsend, MA is assisting the family.
