Arthur “Bart” Behrendt, age 92, died on Friday, June 13, 2025 at AngelsGrace Hospice. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 10, 1933 to Arthur and Marjorie Behrendt. On May 29,1965 he married Carol Scholtens. Bart and Carol moved to Waukesha in 1980. Bart was a graduate of DePaul University and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years at Southern Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed collecting coins and always loved having family around, especially the grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and fully appreciated a good dad-joke. Bart was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he participated in Thursday night bible study group

He will be sadly missed by their 12 children: Mary Carol (Albert) Cowsky, Mark (Julie) Behrendt, Maureen Behrendt, Janet Wallenfang, Karen (Steven) Maye, Michael (Kerry) Behrendt, Margaret (Korey) Platteter, Gregory Behrendt, Maria (Jason) McKellips, John (Jessica) Behrendt, Matthew Behrendt and Katherine Behrendt. He is also survived by his sister, Rita Behrendt and 29 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Carol; his brothers, Harry, John Peter and Paul Behrendt.

Visitation will be held on June 25, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church , 225 S. Hartwell Ave Waukesha, WI from 10:30 A.M. until the funeral Mass at 12:30 P.M. Private interment for Carol and Bart will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials in Bart’s name may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
