Melodee D Kremin, 77, passed away on January 29th, 2026, while in hospice at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Melodee was born on December 29th, 1948, in Waukesha, WI. She graduated in 1967 from Waukesha High School. She also completed coursework and received certification in early childhood development from WCTI. She used her knowledge and love of children as a kindergarten teacher's aide and health room nurse at Hawthorne Elementary School. Later in her life, she continued to use her gentle, caring temperament as a full-time nanny for several different families.

Melodee was also an excellent cook. She often showed her love through cooking for family and friends. Throughout her life, she strived to expand her knowledge of food by taking professional cooking courses, exchanging recipes with friends, reading cookbooks, and watching her favorite chefs on TV.

She is survived by her son, Justin (Melanie) Lichtie, brother Bruce (Susan) Kremin, sister Bonnie (Ernie) Simkins, grandchildren Maren, Anna, Zach, and Emma, as well a niece, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Christian Lichtie, and parents, Bruno and Elaine Kremin.

A private ceremony for the family is planned for the near future. Memorial donations can be made to The American Lung Association.

The family would like to thank Melodee’s Prohealth Care team at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for all their dedication and efforts to Melodee’s care.
