Arthur Brock, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his residence in Putney, KY, on April 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 10, 1957, in Harlan, KY, Arthur's life was a tapestry woven with simple joys, profound faith, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.
Arthur’s journey through life was marked by hard work and a deep appreciation for the earth’s gifts. Throughout his career, he was proud to have worked as a coal miner, where he found fulfillment in the labor that sustained his community. He also spent time at Walmart and in a nursing home, yet it was his years as a coal miner that brought him the most joy and pride.
A devoted member of the Church of the Living God in Baxter, KY, Arthur's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He embraced the teachings of the Bible, finding strength and guidance in its words as he navigated life's challenges. His passions extended beyond his work; he reveled in moments spent fishing, hunting, and hiking, always eager to share the beauty of nature with his family. Above all, Arthur cherished the time spent with those he loved, a devotion that shaped the many memories he created.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife Lena of 49 years, whom he married on March 9, 1976. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his son, James Arthur Brock; daughters, RosaLee Brock and April Lynn Johnson, and husband Sammy; brother, Levi Brock; sister-in-law, Margaret Brock; and adoring grandchildren, Destiny Partin, Angelica Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Arthur Johnson, and Kaylee Reese. Also, surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and church family. Each family member holds a piece of his heart, forever inspired by his strength and kindness.
He embraced the memories of his late parents, Arthur Brock Sr. and Charlene Milwee Brock, who provided him with the foundation of love and integrity that he carried throughout his life. Arthur also joins his late brother, John Brock, and grandson, Micheal Johnson, in eternal rest.
Visitation for Mr. Brock will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, after 11:00 AM at the Church of the Living God in Baxter, KY. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the church with the Reverend Darrell Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
