Arthur “Bud” Stapleton, Jr., 58, of Springfield, passed away Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, at Aventura at Oakwood Village, Springfield.
Bud was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on May 11, 1966, to the late Arthur Lee Stapleton and Lois Darlene (Smith) Stapleton. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Sue (Phillip) Ball, Connie Napier, Lois Marie “Toots” Munz, John Porter, Kim Murtha; and brother-in-law Tom Sheeley.
Bud is survived by his wife, Heather (Setty) Stapleton, whom he married on June 25, 2004. He is also survived by children: Matthew Paul Setty, Joshua Thomas (Jennifer) Adkinssetty, and Allison Elizabeth (Hunter Blauvelt) Setty; 8 grandchildren; siblings: Dianna Sheeley, Patti (Tommy) Wipf, Bev Butterfield, and Karen (Bob) Davis; in-laws: J.D. Napier, Sandy Porter, and Don Murtha; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Jason and Samantha Snipes.
A graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Bud was a FedEx Freight driver for 24 years. He was an avid coin collector and took great pleasure in aggravating his wife and grandkids.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 11am – 1pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where Bud’s funeral will begin at 1pm. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
