Arthur Caras

Arthur Caras, 78, of Derry, NH, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on November 21, 1946, to Beatrice (Glazier) and George Caras. Arthur was raised in Swampscott, MA, attended Manter Hall in Cambridge, MA, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Arthur married, the love of his life, Diane (Albee) and raised their 3 children on their farm in Derry, NH. One of his many pleasures on the farm was driving his tractors for farm projects.
Arthur established Caras Realty in 1967, a Boston real estate redevelopment company and continued this passion throughout his life. In the early 70's, he started in the recycling industry working for Silverman Bros. In 1978, he established Windfield Alloy which focused on precious metal recycling and continues in operation today.
Some of his many passions was sailing, collecting art, real estate investments and participating in the NH Tree Farmers Association, helping to preserve our environment. He was an active member of the Derry Community in particular working to preserve the Upper Village Hall in East Derry.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diane Caras; children, Alisa Tucker and her husband Scott of Boston, MA, Rebecca Tetler and her husband, Eric of Boston, MA and Aaron Caras and his partner, Adria Acevedo of Londonderry, NH; his grandchildren, Jordyn Proulx, Brandon Tetler, Cole Tetler, and Jacob Caras; his sister, Roberta Fishman; his beloved dog, Teddy as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Winn.
