Priscilla Benoit

Priscilla Jane (Wood) Benoit, 86, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones and reminders of a life devoted to family, love, and generosity.

Born on April 11, 1939, in Whitman, Massachusetts, to Percy and Dorothy Wood, Priscilla grew up in a close-knit, multigenerational home that shaped her deep commitment to family. She carried those values throughout her life, creating a warm and welcoming home wherever she lived.

In high school, she met Charles "Charlie" Benoit, beginning a remarkable 70-year love story. While she attended Northeastern University and he studied at Holy Cross, they remained devoted, marrying on August 11, 1962. Together, they built a life centered on partnership, perseverance, and family.

Priscilla and Charlie raised their two sons, David and Paul, in Massachusetts, where their home became a hub of activity for family and friends. Priscilla was deeply involved in every aspect of her sons' lives, supporting their education, athletics, and personal growth with unwavering dedication. Her parents also lived with them, reinforcing the strong family bonds she cherished.

As her sons grew, Priscilla built a successful career in real estate and remained active in her community, but her greatest pride was always her family. She and Charlie later settled in North Carolina, where they enjoyed many happy years, especially time spent together at the beach and with loved ones.

In their later years, they moved to be closer to family, ensuring that Priscilla's final chapter was filled with the people she loved most. She and Charlie shared 63 years of marriage-a testament to enduring love and partnership.

Priscilla's legacy lives on through her husband, Charles; her sons, David and Paul; her daughters-in-law, Janice and Beth; and her four grandsons, John, Charlie, Alex, and Adam, along with their spouses. She took immense pride in the lives they built and the values they carry forward.

A Mass and celebration of Priscilla's life will be held on April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Villa Saint Benedict in Lisle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Girls Collaborative Project, supporting opportunities for young women in STEM.

Priscilla will be remembered for her devotion to family, her generous spirit, and the lasting love she created across generations.
