Arthur B. “Art” CONLEY, 85, of Genesee, PA, formerly of Ulysses, died Saturday, November 1, 2025 in his home.
Born January 18, 1940, in Reader, WV, he was the son of Edgar Rex Conley and Lillian Fayetta Fluharty Conley Long. On May 26, 1963, in Ulysses, he married Dixie Burnside, who survives. A graduate of Reader High School, Art served honorably with the US Navy from 1963 – 1965. He was employed by Dresser-Rand in Wellsville for over 30 years. Art served as a Cub Scout leader, Boy Scout leader, Junior and Little League Baseball coach in Ulysses. He was a member of Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company in Ulysses, Tri-Town Volunteer Ambulance in Ulysses, and the Masonic Lodge in Andover, NY.
Surviving besides his wife, Dixie, are: a son, Brian (Sherry) Conley of Ulysses; three grandsons, Zachary Conley, Travis (Delena Howell) Conley, and Blayde Conley; a sister, Christina F. Sherbutt of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Charles R. (Debra) Conley of Silver Springs, NC and James R. (Linda) Long of Fredericksburg, VA; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Francis Lee Long; two brothers, Jackie G. Conley and William L. Conley; and two sisters, Doris Ann Bullard and Debra L. Howard.
