Arthur Albert Cousin, Jr., affectionately known as Art, passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 97, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. Born in Thomas, West Virginia on February 7, 1928, he lived a life rich with experiences and cherished memories.
Art was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy during World War II. After completing his military service, he dedicated his career to the Federal Government, holding positions at both the Department of Interior and the Department of Commerce until his retirement.
With a personality that was vibrant and warm, Art was known for his great sense of humor and his loving nature. A true social butterfly, he enjoyed engaging with friends and family alike, making every gathering special with his infectious spirit.
He was particularly passionate about the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and dancer. His love for fishing led him to become a founding member of the Anglers Unlimited Fishing Club. Art was also actively involved in the community, holding memberships in several organizations, including the American Legion Post #226, Marlboro Moose #1856, South County Moose #2279, and the Deale Elks #2528.
Art leaves behind a legacy of love and joy, survived by his four children: Marilyn Chaya, Cindy Pate, Robin Lebo, and Edward Cousin. He was a proud grandfather to Jamie, Kenny, and Shelby, and a beloved great-grandfather to Hailey-Ann, Jack, Kenny Jr., McKenley, and Richard.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Betty Jean Beaver, with whom he shared 53 beautiful years of marriage. He is also reunited in spirit with his parents Juanita Dellinger and Arthur Albert Cousin Sr., along with his five siblings.
As we remember Arthur Albert Cousin, Jr., we celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose kindness, laughter, and spirit touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
