Jack Murray Purves

Jack Murray Purves, 85, of Lothian, Maryland, died on April 29, in Pasadena Maryland. He was born January 15, 1940, in Luke, Maryland to Oliver and Janet Biggs. When his birth family was no longer able to care for him, William and Marley Purves adopted him when he was seven. He was reunited with his birth family in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Carole, daughter, Virginia Schollenberger, one-half brother, Gary Biggs, one cousin, Bob Pence, and three granddaughters, Emily Schollengerberger (José), Anna Schollenberger, and Karis DeHaven (Kyle). His daughter, Katherine Purves, predeceased him in 2021.

Jack's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 13 at 6 PM at Riva Trace Baptist Church (475 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD). Guests will be received at 6 pm and the service will start at 7 pm. A dessert reception will follow the service. Donations to Riva Trace Baptist Church or Hospice of the Chesapeake are welcome in lieu of flowers.
