Arthur Richard Davis III

Arthur Richard Davis III, 77, of Newton Falls, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2026, at his home.

He was born September 16, 1948, in Warren, OH, the son of Arthur Richard Davis, Jr. and Frances Davis.

Art was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School, Class of 1967, where he held many school records. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Army on January 8, 1968, and was honorably discharged on January 7, 1971. He was a Vietnam War veteran and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign; Sharpshooter (M-16 Rifle), and Expert (M-14 Rifle, Pistol and SMG).

Art and Vickie met in September of 1971 and were engaged on Valentine's Day of 1972. They walked everywhere together, never running out of things to talk about. On May 26, 1972, they were married and they shared over 53 years of marriage and many wonderful memories.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Amvets Local #112. Art was honored to give a final salute to his fellow brothers and sisters in arms as part of the honor guard. Over the years, Art made countless walking sticks for his fellow veterans.

Art loved being outdoors and could often be found sitting by a fire. He enjoyed gardening, nature, birds, especially purple martins and bluebirds. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, even going to the 2003 Fiesta Bowl with his son, Jason. He also attended many high school football games with his friends. Art loved family gatherings and was known for his BBQ brisket. He never really wanted gifts for Father's Day or his birthday; however, would always ask his daughter to make him a coconut cream pie.

Anyone who knew Art, knew he was larger than life. He would do anything for anyone, and he loved his family with all his heart. Art was especially proud of his grandchildren and each of them had a piece of his heart.

Art was a hard worker, instilling that in his children and grandchildren. He taught them that your word is everything; anything worth doing should be done right; and love with all your heart.

He coached his son's Little League baseball and Pee Wee football teams and his grandson Zakery's baseball team. Art ran several marathons, including the Revco Cleveland Marathon and many local Turkey Trots.

His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Victoria Davis; children, Shannon (Scott) Fleming, Jason Davis and Erin (Eric Mosch) Davis; his beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie Davis, Zakery Davis, Jason Davis, Chloe Fleming, Jacob Fleming, and Alyssa Mosch; sister, Dolores (Tim) Shick; half-brother, TR (Marie) Albrecht; cousins, Glen (Connie) Davis and Paul Davis. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Debbie D'Orio; brothers-in-law, Harry (Elaine) Cline, John Cline and James Cline; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; his bonus grandchildren, Andrew, Jessica, Christopher, Kirsten, and Elijah; countless friends; and his four-legged animals, Vada, Rece, Riley, and Archie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Legg, who passed away on September 11, 2025; brothers-in-law, Bill Legg and Thomas D'Orio; sister-in-law, Carol Cline; uncle, Thomas Davis; special aunt whom he loved dearly, Catherine Davis; and nephew, Ryan Legg.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Twp., OH.
