Arthur Leroy Dyer, 86, from Providence, Rhode Island, passed away on September 6, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1939, to the late Arthur F. and Hazel Dyer.

Arthur spent his early years growing up in Providence and relocated with his family to Florida in the early 1950's. He enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky from 1956-1959.

Following his military service, Arthur served with the City of Miami Police Department for 25 yrs, achieving the rank of Captain before retiring. During his tenure with the City of Miami, Arthur earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justine from F.I.U.

Following retirement, Arthur continued his commitment to law enforcement as the Police Chief of Royston, GA and in multiple capacities with the State of Florida that included a Protective Investigator for DCF and a State of Florida Correctional Probation Officer.

Arthur is survived by his devoted wife Donna, and leaves a loving legacy through his children, Cheryl Hunnicutt (Charles), Michele Dyer, Tracey Watson (Kasie), Michael Dyer, Deborah Driskell (Jason), grandchildren, Daniel, Stefen, Christina, Noah, Dylan, Evan and Nolan, great-grandchildren, Gregory, Mia, and Jake and is a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Arthur is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dyer (Elena) and his sister, Lynne Greco. Throughout his life, Arthur enjoyed flying, boating, motorcycles, camping and lovingly participated in his wife's love for horses.

Late in life, Arthur was baptized and became a member of the Anastasia Baptist Church in St. Augustine, FL.

Arthur will be remembered for his dedication to family and his commitment to service. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
