Arthur E. "Butch" Ebert

Arthur E. "Butch" Ebert, also known as Captain Butch of the Patriot, 80, resident of Old Abbeville Highway, widower of Frances Griffin "Shorty" Ebert, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born June 5, 1943, in Mt. Vernon, New York, he was a son of the late Arthur Elmer Ebert, Sr. and Letitia Fardette Ebert. He attended high school in White Plains, New York and retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation. Butch owned Ebert's Painting Service and was a Lay Minister at First Damacus Baptist Church.
He was a member of Westminster Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Page Ebert Owens and husband Jeff of Waterloo, Diane Ebert Marcengill and husband Russ and Letitia Ebert Marcengill and husband Duane, all of Westminster; one son, Frank William Ebert and wife Angela of Greenwood; a sister, Claire Vara and husband Tony; a brother, Douglas Ebert and wife Ann of Mountain Rest, SC; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Dedie Furcolowe; and a brother, Peter Ebert.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 AM Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ken Culbertson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Marcengill, Ryan Marcengill, Ryan Ebert, Kyle LaVere, Isaac Marcengill, Cade Marcengill, Justin Owens, and Tim Adams.
Honorary escorts will be Nick Letner, Howard Wooten, Jess and Cheryl Agnew-Bell, and Neil and Pam Jones.
The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 10-11 Wednesday morning.
