Arthur Hines Obituary
Arthur was a proud Special Forces member of the U.S. Army who served in Vietnam. After his service in the Army, he dedicated many years to his community as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. His commitment to his work was unwavering and greatly appreciated by all who knew him.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Memorial Gardens, 1115 Macedonia Church Road, Poplar Branch, NC.
Arthur Ray Hines will be remembered with respect and gratitude by those who knew him and benefited from his service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or www.stjude.org/donate.

I never met Arthur in person, and know him from posts he made online and communications back and forth in that venue. We saw eye to eye on politics for the most part. Both like International Pickups and older vehicles, and I thought I had located a key part for him when he stopped posting. Now I know why. I will miss his commentary and interacting with him and his anecdotes of a place well removed in geography and much else. He was proud of serving this country, and I salute him for that. In the years we corresponded, I came to see him as a friend, someone whom I could count on to give me his honest opinions, unvarnished, and concise. We are all poorer for his passing, and I only pray more like him step forth in this country's future. I pray the God he questioned greets him with open arms for a warrior and a friend.
