Chief Master Sergeant Arthur (Art) Joseph Andrews, Jr age 67 passed away in his home in the arms of his loving wife on January 2, 2020. He was born on June 23, 1952 in The Bronx, New York to Margaret McDermott Andrews and Arthur Joseph Andrews, Sr. Art graduated from Keansburg New Jersey High School in May 1971. He joined the Air Force in December 1971 and completed basic training at Lackland AFB TX. After completing basic training, he traveled to Sheppard AFB TX for technical training, His first permanent duty station was Dover AFB DE. His Air Force assignments included Little Rock AFB AR, Upper Heyford, England, Kelly AFB TX, Lackland AFB, TX, Suwon AB, Korea and Randolph AFB TX. Art retired from the Air Force in November 1992 after 20 years of service in the grade of CMSgt, His love for serving his country brought him back to the Air Force as a Civil Service employee in November 1993. He retired from Civil Service in May 2016 in the grade of GS-14. For the past year he served as an Alderman for the city of Marion, TX. Art loved traveling with his wife and spending time with his daughters and granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Margaret Andrews, his Father Arthur J. Andrews and his Step-Mother Gail Andrews. He leaves his wife Susie Andrews to cherish his memory along with his daughters Margaret Cumming (Greg) and Tia Cain, his granddaughter Shelby Cain, brothers Martin Andrews (Don Henderson) Mesa AZ, Douglas Andrews, Keyport, New Jersey. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Schertz Funeral Home, 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with the rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 11:30AM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the interment to follow at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery, 2:00pm.
