Arthur "Art" J. Kaliszewski, age 80, of Rapid River, passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at his home.
Art was born on September 11, 1944, in Bad Axe, Michigan, the son of Leo T. and Eleanor (LaBuhn) Kaliszewski. Art worked as a millwright with the Local 324 Operating Engineers Union for 50 years. Art enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially trout and ice fishing. He was a member of the U.P. Whitetails Association. He was an outdoorsman who loved gardening and going to camp. Most importantly, Art loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed a little toast of "smooth" to end the day.
Art is survived by his loving wife Patricia; son Kirk Kaliszewski and his children Dylan and Kirk Patrick; daughters Kimberly (Paul) Chandler and their children Ella and Callum; step-daughter Elizabeth (Jamal) Martin and their daughter Aleshia; Sister Carol (John) Santilli-Lipka; aunt Rose LaBuhn; Grandson Gregory Cook; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by parents; sister Joann Modad in 1994; brother Leo "Kelly" Kaliszewski in 1974.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
There will be a luncheon following services at the Gladstone American Legion.
