Art (Lee) Kidd passed away on the evening of January 29. 2024 at Confluence Health (CWH) after a short illness. He previously resided in Cashmere, Washington.
Born to Arthur Kidd Jr. and Anna Schultz Kidd, December 23, 1941, in Seattle Washington. The family then moved to Wenatchee WA where Art attended school and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1961.
After graduation, Art (Lee) joined the US Navy. He was on active duty for two years and Naval Reserve for an additional 4 years.
When his Navy service ended Art attended the Washington State Patrol Academy, graduating in 1967. Trooper Art's first assignment was in Spokane WA. He transferred to the Wenatchee Detachment 5 covering Chelan and Douglas Counties. His favorite patrol "beat" was Blewett Pass and Highway 28 from East Wenatchee to Quincy. He retired from the WSP after 35 years.
Art was an avid sportsman and outdoor enthusiast. He was a member of The Cashmere Sportsmen's Association participating in trap and skeet shooting. He thoroughly loved the out of doors He enjoyed many a pack and hunting trip with his beloved horses. One of the highlights of his many hunting adventures was a trip to New Zealand hunting for a giant Red Stag. He returned to the US with quite the trophy. He had to take a window out to get the mounted head and antlers in his home. He loved his trips to the mountains whether on horseback or by Jeep with a close friend scouting for cougar, coyotes, bears and elk.
He was truly a character and jack-of-all trades. In addition to his outdoor activities he was quite the gardener, growing dahlias. His family and friends were the fortunate recipients of huge, beautiful dahlia bouquets.
This "grizzly" lovable character will be missed.
Art was predeceased by his parents and brother Stephen J Kidd.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 29, 2024, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Wenatchee WA followed by Internment at Evergreen Memorial Park, East Wenatchee, WA
