Arthur Nelson Marinacci passed away peacefully on the morning of January 9th, 2024 in the warm embrace of his loved ones.
He was born March 27th 1943 in Hopedale, Ohio to Gustav and Margaret Marinacci. He, his parents, and sister Patricia moved to Royal Oak, Michigan in 1952. His childhood was filled with extensive family, making life long friends, and learning to love hot rods and football. He graduated from Royal Oak Dondero High School in 1961 and began his college education at Lawrence Technical University. His 37 year career was spent as an engineer at General Motors. His 20s, 30s, and 40s were enjoyed by snowmobiling, camping with friends and family, bowling, golfing, boating, and working on go carts. Among his many career and personal accomplishments he was proud to say he bowled a 300 game and got a hole in one in golf. His 50s and 60s were filled with the joy of grandchildren and teaching them to ice skate, make pasta and meatballs and crack jokes. Nelson had an infectious humor that brought life to any room that he was in.
He is Survived by his wife Barbara, sister Patricia (Arnie) Ditri, daughters Michelle Renee (Brian) and Lisa Marie (Joe),step son Rob (Celeste), grandchildren Alyssa Adair, Madison Lea, Michael David, Sarah Nicole, Trey, Brooke, and Taylor, and many other family members and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Lee-Elena funeral home on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 from 2:00 - 8:00PM with a rosary at 7PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or any local animal rescue.
