Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Arthur T. McArthur, 92, of Towaco and formerly Nutley and Toms River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Art was the son of the late John and Jessie (Patterson) McArthur. He came to America in 1953 at the age of 21 after completing military service in Scotland. He retired as a Production Manager for Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley after 33 years of dedicated service. The beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Bithell) McArthur, Arthur was predeceased by his siblings Betty, Margaret and John McArthur, who was tragically killed in action in World War II at the age of 23. He is survived by his son Jim and wife Crystal, his son Dave and wife Stephanie, his daughter Susan Gizzi and her husband John, and his daughter Sandy Bowers and her husband Troy; eleven grandchildren: Candice, James and Jessica McArthur; Dave, Connor and Lauren McArthur; Christine and Alex Demerjian; Dan and Sean Myers; Christian (CJ) Gizzi, and 7 great grandchildren. Arthur and his loving wife of 65 years enjoyed the beach, travel, and get-togethers with friends and family. Art also relaxed by playing golf, fishing and listening to the Beatles, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett to name a few. He will be greatly missed. The McArthur family would like to thank Nuray Devici who was Arthur and Marjorie's devoted caretaker. The funeral service will be held privately
