Barbara Vera McArthur

Barbara Vera McArthur, 86, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away at home on August 23, 2025.

Born on September 24, 1938, in Quakertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late George Steich and Florence (Nace) Steich. Barbara grew up in Trumbauersville, PA, and was a longtime member of Finland Mennonite Church.

Barbara had a creative spirit and a deep love for nature. She enjoyed crafts, drawing, and photography, and could often be found tending to her garden. Birds brought her much joy, especially cardinals, which held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, William McArthur; her daughter, Lucinda Anzelmo of Phoenixville; and her stepsons, William McArthur (Darlene) of North Carolina and Randy McArthur (GiGi) of Royersford. She also leaves behind her siblings, Harold Steich of Florida and Nancy Steich of Quakertown; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her five brothers and one sister.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 AM at the R. Strunk Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial immediately after at Morris Cemetery, 428 Nutt Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation at ccfa.org.
