Deacon Arthur G. Pettibone
May 4, 1941– December 27, 2024

Deacon Arthur G. Pettibone was born May 4, 1941 to George and Creola Pettibone in Foley, AL. He was the first born of seven children. He departed this earthly life Friday, December 27, 2024. His Christian training started at a young age at the Little Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Blackwell. His adulthood,
he moved his membership to the Southside Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend C.C Williams, who ordained him as Deacon. As a servant of God, Arthur was a member of the Male Chorus, and proudly served as the Co -Chairman of Deacon Board. He worked diligently in the church until his health begin to fail.
Arthur was employed with Gulf Telephone Company as a lineman. There he served thirty-six years of dedicated service.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, George and Creola Pettibone; his wife of forty-seven years, Estella Ramsey Pettibone; one grandson, Michael Safford, Jr.; one son-in-law, Michael Safford, Sr.; and four brothers: Willie Pettibone, David Pettibone, Ledger Pettibone and Johnny Pettibone. Arthur leaves to cherish his loving memories, three daughters: Virginia Pettibone, Latesica Pettibone and Arlene Safford; one adopted granddaughter, Shakira Pettibone; two granddaughters: Estella Safford and Latesica Safford; three great
-grandchildren: Amiah Reid, Nevaeha Pettibone and Amir Sims; one brother, Raymond (Patricia) Pettibone; one sister, Mary Lois (Henry) Burton; three sisters-in-law: Rochester (devoted Lonell) Rogers, Mary Pettibone and Pamela Pettibone; two godchildren: Kelvin Richardson and Lateica Brown Sewer; a very special devoted friend
and caretaker, Darlene Steele; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
