Arthur Ray Robertson, 72 of Pearisburg, VA, (Sugar Run) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Arthur was born on February 3, 1953, in Pearisburg and was a son of the late Forrest Wood Robertson and Grace Elma Covey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lula R. Wood.

Arthur spent his early life working, hunting and playing on the family farm up Sugar Run outside of Pearisburg. Arthur was a 1971 graduate of Giles High School where loved playing football for the Giles High School Spartans. He was a graduate of Concord College in Athens, WV. He then taught school in Spotsylvania County for 3 years, where he met his wife, Mary. He then became employed by the CIA, where he retired after 30 years of service. He and his wife then moved back to the family farm in Sugar Run where they built a new home. He spent his final years hunting on the mountains that he loved and watching the wildlife crossing his property from his back porch.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Kilby Robertson of Pearisburg, son, James Arthur Robertson, III (Katherine) of Fredericksburg, grandson, Hunter Ryan Robertson, sister, Linda Robertson Henderson (Charles) of Pearisburg, 2 nephews, David R. Henderson (Jessica) of Pearisburg and Charles R. Henderson, Jr. (Stacey) of Buhl, ID.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 2pm at the Thessalia Community Church with Charles Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the service.
