Arthur William Robillard

In the cherished memories of our hearts and minds, we announce the passing of Arthur William Robillard, who departed this world on October 7, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on July 12, 1949, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Arthur was a man characterized by unwavering loyalty and a profound sense of duty, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, a chapter in his life marked by valor and dedication. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an IT specialist and computer technician at Robins Air Force Base, a role he fulfilled with commitment and expertise until his retirement.
A devout member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Arthur was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 6605, reflecting his enduring camaraderie with fellow veterans. These affiliations were more than mere memberships; they were communities that benefited from his spirit and steadfast loyalty.
Arthur leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Susan C. Lane Robillard. Together, they built a life rich in love and companionship. He was a father to his daughter Erin M. Melton (Christopher) of Charleston, SC, and his sons, Scott Strong (Jen) and Keith Strong (Rosie), both residing in Fall River, Massachusetts. Arthur was also a cherished brother to Louis A. Robillard Jr. (Michele).
His legacy is further carried on by his grandchildren: Brennan and Avery Melton, Jacob, Scotty, Zachary, Amanda, Kelvin, and Keith Strong Jr. Though we mourn his departure, we are comforted knowing he is reunited with his parents and grandson, Christopher Lane Melton, who preceded him in passing.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Arthur's life is scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11 AM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Andersonville National Cemetery.
The memory of Arthur William Robillard remains a source of inspiration and a testament to a life well-lived. His journey touched many and his spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
