Arthur Jon Saucedo

Arthur Jon Saucedo, 56, of Sterling, passed away peacefully at his family home on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Arthur was born on September 9, 1965, the son of the late Inocencio Saucedo and Hope Mendez Saucedo. He was the brother of Lydia Saucedo and the late Peter Saucedo. He had two nephews, Peter and Elliot and a niece, Olivia, all of Hinckley, Ill. He grew up in Sterling, Ill. and attended St. Mary's Grade School and Newman High School. He worked primarily in home construction and loved learning the trade. He was also a fine craftsman in refinishing furniture and had a good eye for beautiful antique treasures. He enjoyed watching football, baseball, baking and cooking. He lived out on the east coast in Maine for a few years and enjoyed the peace and wonder of the sea. He had a gentle soul with kindness in heart and would lend a helping hand to those in need. He was respectful to his elders and would show his gentle side to others. He did live a life of carrying a heavy cross searching for peace. He will be greatly missed, especially his wit, sense of humor, and intelligence. A big thank you to Rock River Hospice and Home staff, CGH staff and other supportive friends and family. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 9:00-10:45 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, 505 1st Ave. Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with Reverend Jorge Bravo, Celebrant officiating. Memorials may be made to Rock River Hospice and Home and PADS shelter in his memory.
