Arthur Stack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation Society - Heritage Place Chapel on Jan. 7, 2024.
Arthur John Stack, Jr, age 78, passed away surrounded by his family on December 29, 2023, in Ocala, FL.
Arthur, fondly known as Art, was born in Superior, Wisconsin, on October 15, 1945 to Arthur John Stack, Sr, and Anna Soares.
Art was married to Peggy Kerr on June 5, 1971. Peggy and Art were married 49 years and raised 6 children together.
Art joined Miami-Dade Police Department on April 22, 1975. He was very proud of his position as a Police Officer and enjoyed working with people in the community. He retired on April 29, 2005 at the rank of Lieutenant. During his 30 years as an officer, he worked in various departments including the Northeast and Central Districts, Economic Crimes, Sexual Battery Unit, Intracoastal Station and the Special Events Bureau.
Aside from his love of police work, Art was passionate about automobiles. The garage was his sanctuary. He would spend hours, amongst the oil and grease, fine tuning his latest project. He saw the potential in abandoned and forgotten vehicles and worked his entire life restoring them.
Arthur is survived by his children, Shelly Kerr of Ocala, Fl, Arthur John Stack, III of Ocala, FL, Daniel Friesen (spouse Kelly Friesen), Robert Stack of Orlando, FL, Casey Eades (spouse Charles Eades) of Ocala, FL and Kevin Stack of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Jacob, Bailey, Jamison, Leo, Lennex, and Emma; and two sisters, Sylvia Jenkins and Shirley Hayes of Knoxville, TN.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Stack, daughter, Kelly Friesen, father, Arthur John Stack, Sr, mother, Anna Soares, and sister, Carol Cecil.
A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11AM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, 954 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Suite 200, Ocala, FL 34470. All are welcome to attend. We request casual attire and/or your favorite motor sports shirt.
