Arturo Urquiola Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 29, 2017.
Arturo Ramon Urquiola, passed away November 28, 2017 at the age of 68 with his family by his side.
Art was a selfless caring man who loved his family first and foremost. He grew up in Queens, New York where he met and married his wife Christine. They had three children and made Katy, Texas their home 1984. He had a way of making anyone feel comfortable and welcome in his home even if it was only for few minute or if you were there for an extended stay. He could find the silver lining in any situation and was always there to listen and provide sound advice. His humor and quick wit would light up any gathering along with his ability to tell engaging stories. Art worked in sales most of his life and loved the thrill of the sale, he also loved to cook, play cards, dominos and watch any sport that was on TV.

Art is survived by his daughter Christy Stetson and husband Tony, daughter Jeanie Hager and husband Scott, son Art Urquiola Jr. and wife Joanna, grandchildren: Lindsey Patterson, Alexandra Mundy and Thomas, Shelby Urquiola and Jacob, Victoria Urquiola and Michael, Tristin Hager, Cody Hager and Hunter Stetson, great grandchildren: Llyon Patterson, Jayden Patterson, Elizabeth Mundy and soon to be Cora Bushen , Brother Joaquin Urquiola and girlfriend Rita Dauzart and many cousins and friends.

Art was preceded in death by wife Christine Urquiola, Granddaughter Elizabeth Urquiola, mother Celia Ulloa and father Joaquin Urquiola

Dad (Art) was an outstanding man who loved his family deeply. He was always encouraging and uplifting to me in times of need. He showed me what a husband and father were supposed to look like. Although he was not my biological dad, he will forever be remembered as DAD in my heart.
I will forever remember the gatherings him and mom had. Mostly because of the love and sense of family that they made you felt when you were around them. I am honored to have known such a man. He will be forever missed.

Art was a man of honor, a man of his word, and a man who had a love for his family that ran deep and strong. Being head of his family was a responsibility he took very serious and was always ready with words of wisdom any time someone was in need. His sense of humor provided me lots of joy and laughter. Men like this are rare and hard to find. He will be missed deeply. The world was a better place having him in it. It has been my honor and privilege to have known and loved him, and to have been loved by him. My only regret was there was not enough time together. He will be in my heart forever.

Art Urquiola was a man of integrity, a leader, a teacher and a friend.
I worked for this man, at Star Furniture, he was a mentor and a father figure to many of us.
He give us hope when we were down and a push when we were slow. He teached his salesmanship and helped many to succeed. I pray that for all his kindness may God receive him and keep him in his glory!
We will see you soon " Jefe"!
