Arvin Verner Prutzman (AKA: Pa, Arv, and Opa), age 74, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, March 03, 2024, at Wellington Place at Biron in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
A Celebration of Life is planned for later this Summer. Details to follow as plans are finalized.
Arvin was born December 3, 1949, in Friendship, Wisconsin to James "Vern" Verner and Olsie Anna (Scovell) Prutzman. Arvin worked for Dehling Construction as a heavy equipment operator until he got a job at the Adams County Highway department in 1985 as part of the highway crew, where he retired from in 2006. After retirement he went back to Dehling Construction part time grubbing trees, because he did not like to sit still and was always busy doing something, he did this until he had a stroke in 2010.
Arvin had an infectious laugh, great sense of humor, and an even better smile. He may have been stubborn at times; however, would give the shirt off his back to those he considered family. Arvin was with Brenda McNutt for 21 years and that is how he met his sons, Niles who Arvin called Bubba and Travis who he called T.J. Arvin also enjoyed being Opa to his grandchildren later on in life.
Arvin is survived by his sons, Niles Verbanac, Travis (Melissa) Verbanac, brother, Merlin Prutzman, sister, Marlene Howard, his nephew James, who Arvin called J.W. (Nicole) Prutzman, and his great niece and nephews. His grandchildren, Makayla (Alex) Grzejka, Necco and Gideon Verbanac, and Brittney (Ramon) Guzman, plus two great-grandchildren Braelynn and Dylan Grzejka. Arvin is also survived by friends that became family, Rocky Lawrence, his reenactment family, Rod and Mary Mueller, Brittany and Travis Halle, and their children.
Arvin enjoyed doing Pre-1840s Reenactments as a blacksmith, he traveled to a variety of different towns to take part in these reenactments. Arvin was an avid hunter and gun collector.
Arvin was a member of the Adams Fire department and even played Santa for the fire department for Christmas.
There is no memorial fund set up for Arvin as the family just wants everyone to hold their memories of Arvin close to their hearts and keep his memory alive by sharing those memories when we all meet to celebrate Arvin's life during the summer.
Arvin was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Olsie Prutzman, his sister-in-law, Gail Prutzman, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Arvin's family would like to thank those who took care of him at Wellington of Biron for the last few years.
