KEMP, Asa V., of Louisa County, died Saturday, December 31, 2011. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Nathan; and his sister, Ida. He is survived by his brother, Leland Kemp of Bumpass; and 13 nieces and nephews, Diane, Faye, Steve, Laura, Kathy, Page, Judy, Alvin, Ruth, Lonnie, Charles, Charlotte and Frank. His remains rest at the Lacy Funeral Home, Route 522, Mineral, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Louisa Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Asa loved his country and served during World War II and Korea. He retired from the military on June 30, 1964, and returned to Louisa County, where he began his farming career.
