Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home & Crematory - GrantsboroAshley Yates Cahoon, 70, passed away on February 11, 2026. A beloved father, grandfather, and brother, Ashley lived a life dedicated to his family, a passion for classic cars, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Born on April 16, 1955, to Edwin and Gladys Cahoon, Ashley grew up and moved to the Greenville area but returned home to Pamlico County to raise his family. Ashley prided himself on being an involved father to his three sons. He chaperoned every single field trip the boys attended throughout school. He was especially passionate about restoring classic cars as well as enjoying the Atlantic beach area. You could also find him cheering on the Duke Blue Devils basketball team every chance he could.
Above all, Ashley cherished time with his sons. He is survived by his three sons, Ross (Joyce) Cahoon, Tyler (Shelby) Cahoon, and Jarod Cahoon, who were the pride and center of his world. He was a devoted grandfather to Clementine, August, Ozell, Bayes, Killian, and Lachlan, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his newest granddaughter in June.
Ashley is also survived by his brother, Dennis Cahoon, and sister, Clara Cahoon; his nieces and nephews, Edwina (Scott) Miller, Stephanie (Raymon) Walker, and Dennis Cahoon Jr.; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Gladys Cahoon, and his niece, Jessica Cahoon Royal.
Ashley’s legacy lives on in the engines he restored, the paths he walked, and most importantly, in the hearts of those who loved him.
Funeral Service will be held at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home, located at 52 Bryant St, Grantsboro, NC 28529, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00am.
