Ashley Jo Chapman Obituary
With profound sorrow, we share the devastating news of the untimely passing of Ashley Jo Chapman. Ashley was born on August 9th 1998 and passed on January 8th, 2024 at the age of 25.
Ashley grew up in Jeffersonville, IN. Currently living in Louisville, KY. Survived by her three sons: Kaiden, Kolten, and Kamden Chapman. Her parents Angela and Manuel Salazar-Leija. Her siblings Katelynn Herron, Amber Williams, Manuel Salazar-Leija Jr, Isaiah Salazar-Leija, Kendra Salazar-Leija, Jesus Salazar-Leija, Aysha Salazar-Leija, Curtis McIntosh, Angel Darling, Kevin Allan, Dustin Scarbrough, Amanda Hughes, Alicia Scarbrough, Along with her grandparents: Sharon and Raymond Rager, Harold Slaughter JR. with many loving family & friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Seferina and Santos Salazar.
If you were lucky enough to have known Ashley, you know how much she loves her kids. Her three wonderful children were the center of her universe, and she poured her heart and soul into them. She was their protector, teacher, and their biggest cheerleader, instilling in them values of kindness, perseverance, and love. Her legacy lives on through them, as they carry forward the lessons and love she shared.
When Ashley wasn't with her kids, she spent lots of her time listening to music, going to parks, spending time with her good friends, and scheming with her siblings. In her alone time you would most likely find her listening to Tupac while exploring parks and natural scenery - with a Hello Kitty vape in one hand and beautiful flower or pinecone she found in the other.
Her untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her, yet, in mourning her loss, we also celebrate her life - a life lived with purpose, love, and an unyielding spirit. Ashley's memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Ashley's life is a testament to the power, love and the strength of the human spirit. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with her funeral service at 6:00 pm. Burial will take place at 10:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Utica.
