Obituary of Ashley Lynn Lenaghen
On Friday, January 19, 2024, we lost our beautiful Ashley.
Ashley Lynn Lenaghen was born on August 26, 1989 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica. She was just 34.
Ashley was the daughter Daniel Lenaghen and Elizabeth Kohlmetz Lenaghen. She was a 2007 graduate from Holland Patent High School and was currently employed as a cook for Applebee's at the Riverside Plaza, where she was loved and admired by all her coworkers, always being told what a great worker she was.
She enjoyed spending all her free time with her daughter, Vera, which left her no time for hobbies or any other extracurricular activities. She did make it a point to reach out to friends that she had not spoken to in a while because that was who she was. Ashley was a very compassionate person who always put other people's feelings and needs before her own. She was never one to complain, and always looked for the good in everything and everyone. As everyone knows, she could not care less about what people thought about her unique sense of style. She was our "Woodstock" girl through and through.
Ashley is survived by her daughter, Vera, and Vera's father, Alex "Fuzzy" Piersma-Cole; mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Jim Conkling; father and stepmother, Daniel and Yvonne Lenaghen; sisters, Amber Lenaghen and her significant other, Stephen Ortiz, and Lia Lenaghen; maternal grandmother, Rose Kohlmetz; her most precious niece and nephew, Aidalina and Stephen "Bubby" Jr.; step-sisters, Melissa and Nicole Conkling; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, James Kohlmetz; and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Lenaghen.
A gathering in memory of Ashley will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Holland Patent American Legion, 9550 Depot Street, Holland Patent, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the trust being established for Vera in care of Dan Lenaghen, 9839 State Route 274, Holland Patent, NY 13354.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
