Jesus, our Lord and Savior, You walked with Ashley, by her side, every step of every day of her life. You delivered her from evil and harm time and time again. She was cared for by the kindness of strangers and friends. Your angels were a shield around her.
You provided for her every need and many of her wants. You blessed her with a loving family and church family. She was beautifully and wonderfully made by Your loving hand. You healed her time and again. On Friday, August 1, 2025 You healed her one last time - a final, perfect and eternal healing. She died and is risen unto a new life with You and her loved ones in Christ who preceded her.

It was a wonderful, crisp fall day on September 27, 1982, in Boston, Massachusetts when Ashley was born at Brigham and Women's Hospital, not a half mile from Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. No more beautiful baby has been born besides our Lord Jesus Christ. She had difficulty learning to walk. A trait she lived with all her life.
Ashley loved children, dogs, cats and other animal life. Some animal names she first learned in Chinese as we moved to Beijing, China when she was three years of age. She also enjoyed wild colors and clothing.
She enjoyed movies and literature and had an impressive vocabulary, though she was timid in social situations. She respected others and was a very good listener. She endured the difficulties of her life with little complaint.
Upon leaving Beijing we moved to Hong Kong where she lived until she was fifteen years of age. This is where she learned to ride horses and stay away from monkeys, banana spiders and giant centipedes. In Hong Kong Ashley put her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by the Anglican Bishop of Hong Kong with her sister, Heather. She enjoyed the youth group in the Shatin Anglican Church.
Ashley is a 2001 graduate of the Leyton High School in Dalton, Nebraska. She attended Grace University in Omaha and finished three years of college at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, majoring in English.
She is survived by her parents Lauren and Charlotte Swanson of Dalton, Nebraska and her sister Heather and husband Nate Storey of Tenakee Springs, Alaska. She is also survived by her dearly held nieces and nephews Charlotte, Hank, Eleanor, Ben, McKenzie and Amos.
Ashley is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Harold L. and Illinois Andrews of Hartselle, Alabama, and her paternal grandparents Lowell L. and Mildred Rose Swanson of Dalton, Nebraska.
Godspeed Ashley.
Words cannot express how much we love and miss you.
Zaijian. Until we meet again.
