Ashlyn Jade Carter, born December 31, 1997 in American Fork, Utah, chose to leave this earth life on October 11, 2025. Ashlyn, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, was known for her loving, loyal, courageous, and talented spirit. Her faith in a loving Heavenly Father was a guiding force in her life, as was her belief in the power of prayer. Ashlyn fought a good, hard battle with addiction for many years and saw many victories as well as loss.
Ashlyn was born ready to party on New Years Eve and always loved a good gathering with family and/or friends. Ashlyn was always happiest surrounded by the outdoors, whether she was hiking, camping, swimming, skating or walking her pets. Talented in many areas, Ashlyn had a knack for homemaking skills ranging from cooking, cleaning and organizing, to decorating. She was also a talented hair stylist and makeup artist and was interested in further developing her artistic talents. Thrifting with her mom and grandma was one of her favorite pastimes, and she always had a keen eye for a good find. She was a talented, incredible roller skater and spent many hours at Classic Skating in her teen years.
Ashlyn's dedication and perseverance were evident in her academics and career; she graduated from Timpanogos High School and earned a dental assistant certificate at the same time as high school graduation, and she consistently received the perfect attendance award in school.
Ashlyn's love for her family was steadfast and so very deep.
She is survived by her mother, Kim Carter-Brown and father, Mike Carter; brothers, Benton Carter and Cooper Brown; siblings, Tanner, Oaklee, and Mason Brown; step-father Brandon Brown; grandmother, Margaret Hagan (Hundley), grandfather, Greg Hundley; and great-grandmother, Shirlene Hundley Stephenson. She is survived by 12 cousins, many aunts and uncles, and close friends, Jeff Johnson and Bobby Brunger, all of whom she loved dearly. She included many others in her list of family that were chosen family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Sandra Carter, Harold Jr and Melville Hagan; great-grandfather, Pat Hundley; and close friends, Wade Long and Tyson Davis, who's deaths she could not get over. Ashlyn's love for her family and friends was matched only by her love for her dog Tuxx, who will miss her greatly.
