Ruth Ellen Boswell passed peacefully from this life on October 11, surrounded by her devoted husband of 47 years and their four children, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, on August 19, 1956, to Byron and Renee Gassman, Ruth was the oldest of seven children and a steady source of love and strength to her family. She married William Chris Boswell on June 10, 1978, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Ruth lived a life centered on family, service, and faith. She was a gracious wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother who found joy in simple moments-traveling with those she loved, gathering around the table, and creating cherished memories through music, bowling, books, and time in nature. Ruth's happy place was her cabin in Teasdale, Utah, where "troubles melt away." She cared for, loved, and tirelessly served those around her, often through small acts of kindness or a loaf of homemade sourdough bread. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she drew peace and strength from her faith throughout her life.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Chris Boswell; her children, Jordan (John) Seely, Shannon (James) Seely, Aaron (Megan) Boswell, and Caitlin (Brandon) Young; her stepson, Casey (Tara) Boswell; fifteen grandchildren (Addison, Preston, Ava, Millie, Claire, Audrey, Will, Eden, Lily, Lane, Jaxon, Avery, Mackenzie, and Conner); and two great-grandchildren (Kaison and Kohen). She is also survived by her siblings Bruce, Kent, Deon, Jay, Paul, and Heidi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Renee Gassman, and her mother-in-law, Shirlene Poulson.

A viewing will be held for Ruth on Friday, October 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Family Mortuary in Provo, Utah. A second viewing will take place on Saturday, October 18, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1050 N 300 W, Mapleton, Utah. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with livestreaming available for those unable to attend in person.
