Ann Brown Obituary

Visit the Nelson Family Mortuary website to view the full obituary.
Ann "Annie" Brown - a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend - passed away peacefully on October 11th at the age of 56. Born on March 1, 1969, Annie brought immeasurable joy, laughter, and love to everyone who knew her.

From the very beginning, Annie taught those around her the true meaning of unconditional love. Her radiant smile, kind heart, and remarkable memory for names and birthdays brightened the lives of everyone she met.

Annie loved music, especially Donny and Marie Osmond, Stevie Wonder, and Barbara Mandrell. She took great joy in being a member of the LDS Church, attending social gatherings, and swimming-especially when she could show off her butterfly stroke at the Michigan Special Olympics, where she proudly competed for many years. She cherished her annual trips to Maine and treasured every moment spent with her brothers and sister.

Annie will be lovingly remembered for her long and heartfelt prayers, her loyalty to both real and imagined boyfriends, her inability to keep a secret, her powerful singing voice (and love of karaoke), her appreciation for all food except pepper, and most of all, for giving the world's best hugs.

She is survived by her mother, Carol Brown; her siblings, Scott (Loretta) and Sarah (Jess); her sister-in-law, Shannon; and eight beautiful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James Brown, and her brother, Brad Brown. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Annie's legacy of love, joy, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of Annie's life will be held graveside at Mapleton Cemetery (620 West Maple Street, Mapleton, Utah 84664) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21st. All are invited to join the family for dinner immediately following the service at Magleby's in Springville.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Annie's memory to ReLife, a nonprofit dedicated to West Jordan Care Center, whose staff cared for her with love and devotion.
