Assunta J. "Sue" Gellock

Assunta J. Gellock, (Sue) 94 of Hamilton Township, Stroudsburg, PA formerly of Bangor, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, December 31, 2025, at Stroudsburg Post Acute Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton Twp., Stroudsburg, PA.
Assunta was born in Bangor, PA on August 11, 1931, daughter of the late John and Theresa (Ruggiero) Marr.
She was a retired sewing machine operator for the former Jans Sportswear in Bangor, PA and a member of the ILGWU.
Assunta was a former member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Bangor, PA. She served as a chaplain of the Bangor High Rise and was a member of the Slate Belt Senior Citizens Center and Choir Director. She loved playing Bingo!
We have been blessed with the presence of Assunta in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her son: Jeffrey Paul Albert of Effort, PA and her adopted son: Brenton R. Heard of Harrisburg, PA.
She was the loving grandmother to Jeffrey P. Albert II of Lynchburg, VA, Dena Tadaro and spouse Michael of Nazareth, PA, Christine Sandt, (and Paul) of Bath, PA, David Emili Jr. and spouse Alyssa of Easton, PA, Alicia Emili, (and Corey) of Easton, PA, and great grandchildren: Rocco, Nico & Mia.
Assunta is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son: Barry W. Cuono, daughter: Linda Emili and siblings: Philip Marr, Grace Ruggiero, Julia Marr. and Theresa West.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bangor, PA.
