Assunta Batisti Lozzi was born in Greve in Chianti, Italy, on November 18, 1939 and died on February 7, 2026 (86 yrs). She was the daughter of Giovanni Batisti and Ada Cappelletti. In Italy she completed a grade school education before apprenticing as a weaver, embroiderer and seamstress.

She came to the United States at the age of 19 after marrying Valerio Lozzi, from Bagno a Ripoli, Italy in 1958. They were married for 62 years before the passing of Valerio in 2021. Their early life together started in Fort Worth then took them to Austin, Beaumont, and back to Fort Worth before retiring in Benbrook. This journey included many trips back to Italy, often joined by family, friends and even close business associates. They also hosted family and friends visiting the U.S. from Italy throughout the years. Assunta became a proud naturalized citizen of the United States.

Assunta was a devoted and loving wife and mother, most warmly shown through her giving nature. She "never met an enemy" and always wanted to serve and make people happy. Assunta was an excellent Italian cook, avid gardener, and great seamstress. She used these skills in many facets of pleasing and helping others.

One constant in Assunta's life was her love of animals. Numerous cats, dogs, horses and even one very stubborn cockatiel passed through her life and all of them always recognized a loving kindred spirit. To her all animals were inherently good and all treated her as she did them with a gentle touch and kindness. Her dog Tessa was her constant companion and confidant in her final years.

Assunta is survived by: sons Steve Lozzi and wife Sandra; Joel Lozzi and wife Barbara; grandchildren Conrad Harrison and wife Kerry, Alessio Lozzi and Marco Lozzi; nephew Doyle Walters, his wife Nancy and their daughter Terra; and cousins, Ralph and Alex Corretti. Family in Italy including: brother Silvano Batisti and wife Simonetta, brother in law Orlando Azzurri, nephews and nieces, Letizia Batisti, Carlo Batisti and Sandro Batisti, Marco Azzurri, Stefania Azzurri, Alessandra Azzurri and their families as well as numerous other friends from her home country and all over the world.

Assunta was preceded in death by her husband Valerio Lozzi, her parents Giovanni and Ada; daughters, Barbara A. Lozzi, and Andra M. Lozzi and her husband Bruce; sister Silvana Batisti; mother-in-law Annunziatina Mori and cousin, Leo Corretti.
