Vincent Lozzi Obituary

Vincent J. Lozzi, Sr., 93
1932 - 2026
Lynn, MA - Vincent J. Lozzi, Sr, age 93, of Lynn, retired Lieutenant of the Lynn Fire Department, former Lynn City Councilor and former Massachusetts State Representative for the 10th Essex District, died on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness.
Vinny shared 58 years of marriage as the devoted husband of the late Ruth (Werner) Lozzi and was the son of the late Victor and Anna (Ti Sciono) Lozzi. Born in Everett, he lived in Lynn for over 60 years. At the age of 16, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 350th Infantry Regiment in Europe as part of the peacetime efforts at the close of World War II and later served in the 511th Airborne Infantry Regiment during the Korean War. He went on to complete his GED as well as a college program. He was the former owner of Convenient Food Market on Western Avenue in Lynn as well as the Merrymeeting Marina in New Durham, NH. He also had many jobs in addition to his work as a firefighter before turning to political service as a city councilor and state representative. Vinny had a heart for his community, especially for seniors and veterans. He was proud of his Italian heritage and very honored and pleased to be recognized by the Knights of Columbus as Italian Man of the Year and the Italian American Citizens Club for his leadership and service. He often involved his whole family in his side ventures, converting the barn at their Western Avenue family home into a mini factory creating baby novelties for local florists. Later in life, he worked for his son at his longtime Lynn business, Stacey's Shade Shop. He could remember and tell a joke for every occasion. He also enjoyed hunting, restoring antique cars, shopping for antiques with Ruth, playing cards and spending time with his family at their summer home on Merrymeeting Lake. Vinny was a member of many Lynn institutions, including St. Pius V Church, the Knights of Columbus, the West Lynn Italian American Civic Association and the VFW. During his second marriage to Nancy (McGrath) (Werner) Lozzi, he loved travelling to Florida and spending time with their Hampstead, NH friends.
In addition to his second wife Nancy, he is survived by his children, Michael Lozzi of Lynn, Nick Lozzi and his wife Sandra of Peabody, Vincent J. Lozzi Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Lynn, Wayne Lozzi of Lynn, Daniel Lozzi and his wife Lauri of Lynn and Valerie and her husband James Tracy of Lynn. He was the proud "Papa" to his grandchildren Peter, Samantha, Michelle, Robert, Rachel, Katelyn, Brian, Vincent III, Anthony, Melinda, Beth, Zahm, Mathew, Zachary, Carmel, Eric, Alyssa, Marissa, Megan, Andrew, Mark and Laci; 22 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Mary Anne Amanti and brother Donald Lozzi. He was the father of the late Mary, Donald and Paul Lozzi, father-in-law of the late Debra Lozzi, great grandfather of the late Tiana Lozzi and brother of the late Feliciano and Victor Lozzi. He was the most loving Dad, Papa and friend and will be dearly missed by all.

I knew Vinny for many years once working with him to get Manning bowl playground restored. Later I was blessed to be a small part of his grandchildren´s lives becoming a friend to his family. May their best memories for this loved and respected man help to console them through their time of grief. Blessings and prayers

Vinnie, Its been a long road and I have enjoyed knowing you, your wife and children. You have had a good life and I am so happy to have known you. Now I am living in South Carolina, after a stint in Colorado Springs but was happy you, and Vinnie were there when my mom, Phyllis, passed a few years ago. You will be leaving many, many friends and family and I am sure you made their lives better for your presence. Rest in Peace, my friend, and maybe we will run into each again in the next chapter..........God Bless you........Larry Guerin
