Asterio "Terry" Canda

Asterio "Terry" Canda, 85, of Pahoa, HI, died at the Straub Benioff Medical Center on Oahu on Friday, August 8, 2025. He was born in Kealakekua-Kona, HI and was a retired salesperson with Kamaaina Motors. He was also a retired Vietnam Veteran of the US Army and was a 4th degree black belt Taekwondo instructor with Canda Taekwondo. Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM. Friends may also call at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 pavilion on Monday, October 13, 2025 where a committal service will be held at 11:30 AM. The family requests casual attire. He is survived by his: Wife, Ruth Canda of Pahoa, HI; Sons, Terry Canda of Pahoa, HI and Jurgen (Sue) Canda of Keaau, HI; Daughter, Stephanie (Joshua) Lake; Brother, Ronald (Valerie) Rillon of Reno, NV; Sister, Sandra Silvis of North Dakota; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
