Athena "Teena" D. Uranowski (nee Lourgos) age 77, of Momence, IL departed her worldly life on September 20, 2025 and entered her Heavenly home with the Lord. She is the beloved wife of John Uranowski; Loving mother of John Paul (Andrea) Uranowski, Darcy (Richard) Dodd, and Jane Lawson; Proud grandmother (Yia Yia) of Larry, Drew, Christopher, and Eleni; Devoted sister of late Helen (Marie, George) and late Dan (Mica) Lourgos (Alexandra, Nick, Eleni). Athena "Teena" D. Lourgos was born on 10/31/1947 to Christopher and Martha (Avgerinos) Lorgous in Chicago, IL. There, while residing in a 3-flat occupied by her family, she learned to cook as her family did on the Grecian Island she is from, Zakynthos. Growing up in Chicago was filled with family centered activities with cousins. A young childhood nickname of "Teena the ballerina" was given to her for her small feet and graceful steps, a nickname that she carried with her from childhood well into adulthood. As a young adult, Teena worked as a switchboard operator at Illinois Bell.

Teena and John Uranowski were married on February 11th, 1977 and they began their life together in Hegewisch. Teena and John welcomed their son, John Paul, on March 29th, 1979. She was a proud mother, and viewed as a second mother to many of the children in the neighborhood. She was an extremely proud grandmother, supplying "a few bucks" for piggy banks and small presents with each visit, spending hours with the children reading books.

Her spirit will live on through each person she impacted in her life as they recount memories with her. She will be forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Teena would be appreciated:
