Aubie Dwight "Mac" McCrea, age 81, of Buford, Georgia, passed away to his heavenly home on September 3, 2025. Mac had great faith and trust in the Lord to care for him and his beloved special needs children, Jericha and Jordan. His uncommon patience, caring and love for Jericha and Jordan was unsurpassed. He had such a funny, uplifting personality and was so genuine, always willing to help others any way he could. Mac was born January 5, 1944, and raised in Alma, Georgia. He began serving our country in 1961 in the kiddie cruiser program of the United States Navy as a Fireman. Later he returned to Georgia and had his own painting business, known as "Mac the Painter." Mac was a faithful attendee of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Johns Creek. Mac is preceded in death by his wife, Laura McCrea; daughter, Jericha L. McCrea; mother, Mary Britt and father, O.A. McCrea; and one brother, Neil John McCrea. He is survived by his son, Jordan O'Neil McCrea of Lithonia; two sisters, Helen Waters and Jerry Nall of Alma; daughter, Cora Pursel; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Bro. Jared Bennett officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 14 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mac will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia..
