Rev. Audie Van May, age 77 of Dayton, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 28, 2025. He was born in Hixson, Tennessee, on October 2, 1947, the son of the late Grady and Imogene (Brown) May. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Smith and Rick Smith, and his sister, Linda Mossette.
Audie lived in Dayton all of his life and retired from the City of Dayton after 35 years as the Street Superintendent. He was the Associate Pastor at Friendship Full Gospel Church and often preached at Faith Baptist Church of Dayton. He enjoyed working on old cars.
Audie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Edna Fay (Morgan) May of Dayton; his two daughters, Linda Cook and Teresa Leffew, both of Dayton; his three grandsons, Michael Aaron Brown of Dayton, Timothy Wayne Cook of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Steven Tyler Cook of Jacksonville, Florida; his great-grandson, Matthew Wyatt Brown; and his brothers, David (Pam) May of Soddy-Daisy and Eugene (Mary) Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Audie will be in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Filyaw and Rev. Stanley Faulkner officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, Tennessee, where they will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
