Audrey Mae Beckett Balderson, 92, joined her lifelong love, husband Carl, in Heaven October 16, 2025. She was born April 10, 1933, the last living child of 7, born to Oza Ann Allred Beckett and James M. Beckett.
Audrey had three real loves in this life, God, Carl, and her sons. She and Carl were married for 71 years before his death in 2021. She was a homemaker when her boys were young, she never wanted anyone else to watch after them. Later in life she was the owner of Audrey’s Gift Shop, for over 20 years.
Some of her favorite times in life were getting together with her family for holidays and other festive events. She enjoyed traveling with Carl to Williamsburg, Amish Country and winters in Florida. Also enjoyed her “sewing club” friends, her baking and canning friends, and later years loved “Hot Dog Days” with her nieces. She was also on the Crossroads Camp Board and member of the Zonta Club. Audrey always had a smile and she could make you smile even in the hardest of times.
Audrey was a member of Trinity Christian Church where she attended for over 65 years. She held many positions in the church which included Counter, Evangelism, and Choir. She was always by Carl’s side for any church function that he was involved in. She never wanted to miss church, even when it was difficult for her to get there. Her love of God and willingness to serve was unsurpassed. She loved church music, but mostly the music played by Steve Kimes. She played his CD’s, that he made for her, over and over, which gave her great joy.
Audrey is survived by her son, Russ Balderson (Connie); granddaughter, Stephanie Levreau (Dennis); daughter-in-law, Diane Balderson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; son, Carl Balderson Jr.; brother, James M. Beckett Jr.; sisters, Grace Tanner Pierson, Peggy Pierson, Carolyn Stutler, Sharon Buffington; and infant brother, Joel Beckett.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Elison Assisted Living and Memory Care and Heartland Hospice for all the care and support.
